I’m a software engineer at Abbott, a medical device company in Sylmar, and have served as the President of our HOA Board of Directors since 2018. I’m fortunate to work with my fellow Board members Stacey Brenner and Vikram Pai. Together, we’ve worked diligently to manage the transition from multiple builders to a 1,997-home HOA-owned community. This handoff has required that we not only make landscape enhancements, safety improvements, and upgrades to community facilities, but also safeguard the long-term health and stability of the Association. We’ve taken on this challenge by investing in things that protect our capital assets, minimizing maintenance costs, reducing risk, and by making prudent financial decisions. In addition, we’ve spent considerable effort building and strengthening relationships with vendors to ensure accountability, reasonable prices, and excellent service. This effort has resulted in our Association now holding $7 million in total assets, $1+ million in operating cash, and $5+ million in reserves. Our community is well-managed, well-maintained, and is one of the premier places to live in Santa Clarita.
